UN VIAJE A NUEVA YORK (OUR TRIP TO NEW YORK)

UN VIAJE A NUEVA YORK (OUR TRIP TO NEW YORK)

It all began like that... We left Barajas Aeroport (Madrid) at 11 a.m. The journey wasn’t so long for us, since we fell asleep in the seats, which were quite comfortable! Although it wasn’t true that air-hostesses came all the time to your seat to ask you if everything was alright!

When we arrived to New York’s Aeroport (JFK) I couldn’t imagine it was so big! We arrive at about 8.30 a.m. after 9 hours of journey. I wanted to buy every single thing at the souvenir shop, since I’ve never been there. My friend couldn’t stop taking pictures of every single corner. When we left the aeroport, my uncles were there waiting for us. We stayed with them those 2 weeks. They were expecting us at the exit of the “Air Train”, which connected all the JFK’s terminals one to the others, connecting the aeroport to the subway as well

Their house was place at the Manhattan island, and it was close to the Empire State Building. We had a great time there, there were so many places to visit, like restaurants, pubs, parks, shops… all kinds of things. The one which called our attention the most was “Central Park”, which is a huge public park located in the middle of Manhattan. There were many man-made lakes, two ice-rinks, and many green areas. There were many fountains too, the one I like the most was “Angel of Waters”. It was very hard for us talking to the people, since our English wasn’t so good. We had dinner at home almost every day, although one day we went to a Hamburguer Restaurant with gigantic hamburguers, so to speak, they were wonderful! The same night we went to see Times Square, which was impressive! Another day we went shopping, we bought clothes, trainers, etc.

We had a very good time. One of the most used methods of transport was the taxi, although we could also take the underground, and the ferry too! The took you from one place to another, we only took it to see New York’s surroundings, there were wonderful views! We also visited the Liberty Statue, it was amazing, from the pictures it looked so small, but it wasn’t so. We went up to the crown, and it was really impressive.

If you ever have the chance to go there, just do it!
