6º ENCUENTRO EUROPEO EN PORTUGAL (Programa Comenius)

Twenty-three students and two teachers spent five days in Ansiao, Avelar and Santiago de Guarda in Portugal. We started our trip the 7th of May at 1 a.m. A coach took us to Barajas. Our flight was at 8 a.m. so we had to wait more than three hours. We arrived in Porto at 9 a.m. (8 a.m. local time) and  again we had to wait. We had lunch in the center of the city and visited one of the famous wine cellars. After a long day we arrived in Ansiao where we were introduced to our Portuguese friends in Ansiao, Avelar or Santiago.

On Tuesday morning we were visiting the region and later we could see a museum in Santiago with Roman mosaics. We had lunch at school and in the afternoon we started with the workshops. They were about the 50 years of the treaty of Rome.In groups of 8 to 10 students we had to think about the idea of Europe, our worries, hopes and recommendations for a better future. We had to create a painting with the logo “50 years together” with the different languages in the European Union. We went on with the work on Wednesday. Later in the evening we had a great show with some music, dancing and theatre.

We spent the next day in Figueira da Foz, a beautiful village by the sea. We were walking and playing some sports on the beach. The weather wasn’t very good, it was cloudy, but we enjoyed it very much.

Finally, on Friday we all met in Ansiao and we could see all the paintings we had done in the workshops. We had a lunch pcnic in a park , some grilled meat with beans, and we started our return journey that was going to finish at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning.
